I sent in for mine as soon as the DVDs were released too and still haven't gotten anything. No doubt they are making sure that the folks who buy the DVDs from Comedy Central are taken care of first! I called last week. They had me on their computer. They have my money. But, they said they have not shipped ANY of them out yet and couldn't tell me when they would be going out. Our punishment for saving a little money.
Time to write CC a rant...
- January 6, 2003 - Happy Epiphany!!! Zuzu found a bunch of articles about South Park in the year-end lists of various publications. Read about them here! Some notes: The Concord & Kannapolis Independent Tribune prediction for 2003 concerning U.S. Rep. Robin Hayes ... "Blame Canada" has been the battle cry of coservatives for eight months or so now now, as they point out how easy it is for terrorists to cross the border into the U.S. up there; these conservatives have taken to playing that song to drive their point home. And The Star Ledger's Alan Sepinwall's quote on the sharpness of South Park bears repeating:
"Yes, it's gleefully disgusting and juvenile, but there's more to "South Park" than bad language and gross-out humor. There's a genuine sense of outrage at the stupidity, selfishness and injustice in this world. Trey Parker and Matt Stone's simple-looking creation became more sophisticated than ever this year, with scathing spoofs of the Catholic Church scandals, politicians and musicians who exploited 9/11 for personal gain, Russell Crowe and TV psychic John Edward. At times it was sicker than ever, notably in depicting the adventures of class pet Lemmiwinks, which I can't remotely describe here. But whether being smart or stupid, "South Park" remains a comedy treasure."
- January 8 - Matt and Trey once said they wouldn't make a second South Park movie, because of all they put up with making the first one, and because they couldn't find a way to improve on the first one. But times change...
[1:57pm] <Timmy> r they gonna do another movie?
[1:57pm] <+Steve> no
[1:57pm] <Timmy> y not
[1:57pm] <+Steve> they don't want to
[1:58pm] <@breayle> that's a maybe steve
[1:58pm] <Timmy> ok fair enough
[1:58pm] <@breayle> i'd like to update the "no" to a maybe

- January 22, 2003 - Comedy Central Fiasco on South Park Season 1 Commentaries!!! This I found on the South Park Studios BBS:
Posted by: rmmatt01 @ 01-22-2003 11:36
- I got Season One for a Christmas present (I knew I was going to get it, so I didn't buy it in Nov.). The half-ass job WB did ticked me off, but I decided if the commentary was good I'd let that slide. But today, my letter to El Paso came back saying the P.O. box was closed. Apparently they've run out of CDs.
- NB: Comedy Central is the one distributing the commentaries, not Warner Brothers. Apparently, breayle is aware of the problem, for this is part of an answer in the latest FAQs: "However, I cannot gaurentee you will be able to get the free audio commentary disc. You might have to wait for copies to be sold by indivuduals on places like Ebay.com."
Since then, other people have reported their letters sent back. My check was cashed on December 20, but I still haven't gotten my commentaries. And I thought Paramount was bad with its DVD releases. :(
- January 23, 1 p.m. - Breayle posted this in #spschat!!!
<@breayle> i have season seven news
<@breayle> you wanna hear it?
<@breayle> so far the first part of season seven will be seven new episodes
<@breayle> the premire [sic] epsisode is gonna be on March 19th 2003
Cool! And there will be more parts after the first. :) Work begins on the new season February 18. The 100th episode will air on April 9th, folks!
- January 27 - Anybody know German? If so, and if you have the TMB episode "S. D. I - Aye - AYE!", please send me the German words and their English translations for the Austrian sections of that ep. I've put up what I have, but it's not complete without the German. Thanks in advance.
- January 28 - Thanks, Janina, for the German in the episode, and the English tranlsations. :) Thanks, too, Kenny. Some of the German in the episode, they both say, seems to be cobbled together, as it doesn't make sense to native speakers. I've also worked with a German dictionary and Babelfish. The translations are now in the transcript, and the text I'm still not sure about is in parentheses, so if there's any way to clean that up, lemme know. Thanks.
- February 3 - Tyler found this little Flash quiz. Have fun! :D Also, Trey and Matt are to get the very first "Persistence of Vision Maverick Award" from the Santa Monica Film Festival. A bit more info at SPS. Thanks to breayle for that info in the chatroom last week.
- February 5 - Some news from South Park Press
"Dubyathon"
February 15 from 10:30 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.
- In honor of President's Day, COMEDY CENTRAL brings back all eight episodes of "That's My Bush!" featuring everyone's favorite sitcom president for a four-hour "Dubyathon" of domestic and political hijinks. Join old Dubya as he attends an execution, trips out on Extacy and attempts to steal cable.
- Have a look at them and send in corrections. And if you can, recap the eps in AVI format.

- Maybe some returning ones? Like Jesus and Kenny?.
- February 13 - Valentine's Day Trivia Contest coming up tomorrow at #spschat at 3 p.m. Pacific. The first contest was won by Homie, and his prize was a South Park Studios T-shirt.

- February 18 - TMB note: The TMB 2-disc DVD set is slated to come out in time for next year's Presidential Elections. Read here for more info on it.
- February 20 - In case anyone is wondering about the SPS BBS, South Park Studios has been thinking about replacing it with a state-of-the-art message board for a while now. Thanks to M4CH1N3, that replacement will be here sooner than planned - they just don't know when yet - it'll be a phpBB board. BBS regulars will need to reregister.
February 26 - South Park Season 2 3-DVD set release date moved back to June 3rd. The following is taken from, and more info at, Total DVD and DVD Toons:
Warner Brothers announces all eighteen episodes from the classic second season of Comedy Central's all-time highest rated series will be available to own in an exclusive 3-disc collector's edition DVD set with "kick-ass" special features.
Features:
- Full Frame
- English Dolby Digital 2.0
- English, French, and Spanish subtitles
- Documentary
- Music Video
- TV Spot
- Making Of
South Park: Complete Second Season is scheduled for release on 6/03/2003, with a retail tag of $49.98.
- March 2, 2003 - Mattt of CrapTV is offering a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to know what Matt Stone knows! Got any questions for him? Ask now or forever hold your peace. Sign up for that board if you're interested. And there's good news, and there's bad news. South Park will be around for at least two more seasons, so there will be an eighth season, but there likely won't be an SP:BLU sequel. Trey says, "The more our ratings go down, the better the show becomes. We don't give a shit!" Parker and Stone will reunite with producer Scott Rudin (The Hours) for a political, world-themed comedy that's far removed from Park. More news in that link above on their Lifetime Achievement Award at the Santa Monica Film Festival, and their view of Sundance.
- March 3, 2003 - SouthParkMittenz alerted me to Comedy Central Press's latest press release!
"South Park" Kicks Off Its Seventh Season With Seven New Episodes Beginning Wednesday, March 19 At 10:00 P.M. On COMEDY CENTRAL
Seventh Season To Include The Series' Landmark 100th Episode
- NEW YORK, March 3, 2003 -- "South Park" returns with more action, more social satire, more life lessons and more of those four lovable boys, Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Kenny! In this, the seventh season of the groundbreaking series, "South Park" joins the exclusive ranks of those who have reached the 100th episode mark. "South Park's" all-new episodes begin airing on Wednesday, March 19 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL. The 100th episode is scheduled to air Wednesday, April 9 at 10:00 p.m.
- Cartman shines this season as he represents the United States in a youth-oriented mock UN, sponsored by Michael Jackson. In other episodes, Cartman travels back in time to face-off with the country's founding fathers and, if that weren't enough for the average fourth grader, he's forced to deal with the pressures of stardom when one of his body parts becomes too famous for its own good. Not to be outstaged by the big-boned one, when Jimmy and Timmy feel they aren't getting the respect they deserve, they join the "Crips." And finally, in a horrifying holiday episode, "South Park" explores the origins of every child's darkest fantasy, the Easter Bunny.
Tomorrow, Mardi Gras! Eat up, if you're observing Lent! Never mind if you're not. :D Anywho, Havoc found this article, about the going rate for tooth fairies. If you remember "Tooth Fairy's Tats 2000", you'll know that the boys were going for a buck a tooth. The humor piece observes that teeth are still going for 25 cents a tooth, but "The average child loses 48 teeth per week between ages three and twelve." Check out the suggestions for things a fairy can leave under junior's pillow that won't leave him/her in the poor house.
March 6, 2003 - A poster on Go Timmy Go found the following passage on rotten.com:
[Does Minister Louis Farrakhan] really inspire any more fear or respect than your average everyday American black man? Just ask communist homosexual South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who backed down from airing an episode of their cartoon ridiculing Farrakhan's Nation of Islam because they didn't want to end up like Minister Malcolm X, whom Farrakhan likely had killed for disagreeing with cult founder Elijah Muhammad! The truth is, no episode exists ridiculing Farrakhan's Nation of Islam. At the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, on March 7, 1998, Matt said:
STONE: We wanted to do an episode with the Nation of Islam, a whole episode about that. [audience reacts] And Comedy Central wouldn't let us do it. Not because - I mean, they were like fine with the humor and fine with all that, but they just, you know, feared that they would get bombed and we would get lynched. So…
PARKER: So we're going to do it in the Fall. [laughter]
STONE: Now we've got a little more clout, maybe we'll be able to do it.
They never did make it. Comedy Central wouldn't let them. But are they communist homosexuals? No. They're libertarian hedonists! :D
March 12, 2003 - On Jimmy Kimmel tonight, ABC, 12:05 am, Jeff Ross (co-host); Lorenzo Lamas; "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker; rappers Smiles and Southstar. (VCR Plus+ 1360329) Stay up and stay tuned! And look for Norman Lear as guest writer on the show! From Yahoo, The Washington Post, and The Herald Tribune. In short,
Norman Lear, the Emmy-winning producer of TV's "All in the Family," said Wednesday he will collaborate on several episodes of the crude - and crudely animated - Comedy Central satire "South Park."
Among the subjects he hopes to mock on the show, about four foul-mouthed little boys and their conflicts with the world, are the U.S. push for war in Iraq, reality TV shows and immigration.
March 13, 2003 - Recap on the Jimmy Kimmel segment with Matt and Trey: they talked about the show a bit, then about BASEketball (including the kissing scene between Remer and Cooper), then about Norman Lear coming in to write an episode of the show with Matt and Trey. You can consider Trey and Matt on record as being against a war in Iraq, being entertainers and all. :) Commercials on Comedy Central indicate that Kenny will indeed be back in the lineup. And now the Comedy Central Press release for Norman Lear.
March 15, 2003 - Big news from South Park Studios: (Check out the Star Wars-style picture there!)

Episode Title: "Cancelled"
The boys discover Earth is nothing but one big intergalactic reality show and it's about to be canceled when "South Park" returns for its seventh season on Wednesday, March 19 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central
With a nod to the first episode of South Park, the satellite dish in Cartman's ass has been reactivated. The question of "Visitors" in the small mountain town is finally answered when the aliens return to wrap up one of their longest running reality shows, "Earth". Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, yes Kenny, are once again trapped in space and it's up to them to save the planet from annihilation.
