SOUTH PARK PAYS HOMAGE TO THE 1981 FILM, "HEAVY METAL" IN AN ALL-NEW "SOUTH PARK"
 
- The boys are worried when Kenny starts experimenting with the newest way to get high in an all-new episode of "South Park," entitled, "Major Boobage."
- Kenny is skipping school and the other boys are sure it's because he's hooked on the latest drug craze that's popular with the junior high and under crowd. Meanwhile, Kyle's parents become concerned that their son is getting high when they find contraband in his room. To illustrate just how high you can go, "South Park" pays homage to the 1981 movie, "Heavy Metal."

CANADA TAKES A STAND IN AN ALL-NEW "SOUTH PARK"
  
- Canadians want more money and decide to stage a strike in an all-new episode of "South Park," entitled, "Canada On Strike!."
- The head of the World Canadian Bureau leads the country into a long and painful strike and the responsibility of brokering a settlement rests with the boys. Meanwhile, people from Denmark flock to the U.S. and cross the picket lines to take the place of the striking Canadians. In conflict over whether or not to stand with their countrymen, Terrance and Phillip uncover the truth behind the outrageous cost of the strike.
On the other hand, I don't recall any scab writers... hmmm.
- April 3, 2008 - A quick set of references for "Canada On Strike" are up now, all of them from YouTube. YouTube allows your videos to earn you some money through AdSense, so it's not quite the business model the WGA was striking for. A note on scab writers: I was referring to writers who don't appear on camera. Jay Leno, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert do appear in front of the camera as hosts of their own shows. They didn't bring back their writing teams, and Leno was called in to promise he wouldn't write any new material for The Tonight Show while the strike was on. I don't know if Colbert and Stewart were called in as well and/or didn't write new material during the strike.
- April 7, 2008 - Looks like Ms. Garrison will revert to Mr. Garrison. From South Park Studios: Episode #1205 - "EEK, A PENIS!" While Ms. Garrison is off trying to find a way to become the man he was always intended to be, Cartman is put in charge of the classroom.

- Cartman has a gift for reaching the most difficult kids in the school system.
- While their regular teacher, Ms. Garrison, is busy looking for a way to become the man he always intended to be, Cartman is put in charge. Soon after Cartman takes over, the kids' test scores are on the rise. Cartman decides to make a difference by working with some inner-city kids whom no other teacher has been able to reach.

Desperation sets in as the fear of the unknown spreads rapidly across the country. When Randy hears there still may be some internet out in California, he packs up his family and heads west in search of a signal.

- NEW YORK, April 21, 2008 – A class field trip to the living museum takes a deadly turn. Mr. Garrison takes the fourth grade class on an educational field trip to a Pioneer Village where dedicated workers remain in character as their counterparts from the 1800's. Cartman forces Butters to ditch the fanatical townsfolk to go to the amusement center located next door. While the rest of the kids are reluctantly learning about the good old days in Colorado, a group of trigger-happy thieves break into the museum and take everyone hostage.
- April 21, 2008 - A Visitor has been found at the Internet Refugee Camp. I've got the pic and all, but I've been asked to take the Season 12 visitors down until July 1, so wait for them.
- April 26, 2008 - Okay, it's bad enough that South Park Studios' beta site is getting bloated and is having problems with its episode player from time to time, but now it won't remember my login information, and I have to hammer the site just to log on. If that doesn't work, there's one more thing you have to do: "You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to enter the confirm code from the image you see below," which to me means just more hammering. Man, if that don't discourage me from visiting that site's board...
- April 31, 2008 - MovieWeb says that the Season 11 DVD will arrive on August 12. All 14 episodes will be uncensored, so no more bleeps. No cover art yet. TV Shows on DVD has the same info.
- May 8, 2008 - TV Shows on DVD has more info on the DVD set: all eps will be uncensored, as they are at South Park Studios. If you have Rock Band, the 3-song download pack that will be included might be useful to you. I'm not posting any artwork until it's official. And now, Sotuth Park In The News:
- The UK Channel 4 series Spaced is coming to the U.S. on DVD with commentary from Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Bill Hader, Patton Oswalt, Diablo Cody, and Matt Stone. It's a 14-episode series - two seasons of seven episodes each.
- IGN's AskMen.com has five things you might not know about South Park. I say "might" 'cause really, big fans of the show probably already know them. Here's the list:

- Tom Cruise wanted to do a voice for South Park.

 May 12, 2008 - The Consumerist says that American Airlines is blocking South Park Studios from its Admiral's Club waiting areas at at least one airport. A passenger named Gil waiting for a flight from Narita, Japan, to Los Angeles, said this:
- I'm stuck in the Admiral's Club in Narita Airport for another 5 hours in Japan because AA cancelled my flight to LA. To kill time I figured I catch up on my South Park episodes and watch the last few shows. I type in www.southparkstudios and settle in for some quality comedy and satire, but then I get the attached message from AA's network nannies.
- Tasteless? Who decided that? What makes this almost sublimely ironic is the picture of the naughty Japanese lady cop they use as an image for the blocking page. They apparently consider that tasteful.
- I went through to see what else they block but couldn't find anything else. Apparently serial killing (Dexter), selling dope (Weeds), trashy evening soaps (Desperate Housewives), and crappy South Park wannabees (Family Guy) are considered acceptable.
Is this American Airlines and Fortiguard policy? Are people seeing that message in every airport American Airlines goes to? If not, then is it Japanese policy? Are people seeing that message in Japan no matter what airline they're on? If it's the former, then really, why should we be protected from tasteless sites? If it's the latter, then there are a lot more tasteless things I can think of coming out of Japan than a "tasteless" Web site.

- Cartman is about as iconic a character as there is in the adult cartoon world. To steal a line once used to describe the horrors of industrialization, Cartman is “nasty, brutish and short” -- and to our endless amazement and amusement, we find that he is blessed with virtually no redeeming qualities. His innocent selfishness never wavers, and the only way to summarize South Park is to list some of Cartman’s more memorable acts of hostility.

Matt Stone Visits Austin Via South Park (Austin Chronicle). There are two really bad pictures here, but oh well. Matt Stone visited the University of Texas in early May or late April to appear at a Master Class presented by John Pierson. The only news here is that South Park will move to HD next year as all of TV moves to digital format.
- May 28, 2008 - I've updated the Classes page with a yearbook-style list of the students in Mr. Garrison's classes over the years. If there's someone I don't have there that you think should be there. let me know, and mention what episodes they're in.
- May 29, 2008 - Back on April 21 I was asked to remove the three season 12 Visitors people had told me about from this site. Even nall, who asked me to do this, was puzzled by Matt and Trey's request, but there was a reason for it after all: South Park Studios has issued a challenge to the show's fans: Find the seven Visitors in the episodes shown so far this year (there's one in each episode). The deadline is midnight June 16 Eastern (that's 9 p.m. Pacific). Ten prizes will be given away - 5 uncensored Season 11 DVD sets for 5 lucky people (one per person, naturally) who find all seven aliens and 5 uncensored Imaginationland DVDs for 5 lucky people who find between four and six aliens. Since this is a challenge, don't send anything to me until the end of June.
- May 30, 2008 - You probably already know that you should be getting the aliens and the timestamps from the episodes at South Park Studios. For those of you wondering if some of the original airings didn't have aliens, I'll say... so far, each of the original airings does have an alien. I'm searching for the ones in "Major Boobage" and "Super Phun Time" right now, but someone at the SPS BBS has already found all seven. Remember though: this is the luck of the draw. You could be first in submitting the aliens, but your name might not be drawn at all.
