The Secrets of 'Damien'

by Wild Willie Westwood, with sources from all over the Web

South Park has moderated somewhat: it went from TV-MA-L to TV-14-LV
44 X 1 = 44
2X + 3Y + 1 = 666
E = MC2
X2 + 2X + 2 = Y
98 + 5 + 126 = 229
The last two equations are soon erased.
666 can be seen on the back wall.

New Food Item - poofy pies

When Cartman negates Pip's invitation he says, "Sorry, Pip old chap" just as Joe Gargery would say in Great Expectations.

Non Sequitur - Mr. Garrison launches into a discussion of Nancy Sinatra's choice piece of ass when he's supposed to finish talking about the Baroque Era.

In Mr. Garrison's classroom, there are pictures of a giraffe and a baboon. In the The Omen, Damien totally freaks out a giraffe and a pack of baboons.

Damien

  1. The ominous music that plays when the camera is on him has Rectus Dominus…Cheesy Poofs. Rectus Dominus stands for either ass master or butt lord (it actually means righteous lord. A butt lord is dominus recti). The music is a parody of "Ave Satani" from The Omen movies.
  2. Damien looks a lot like "Hecubus, Spawn of Satan" from a skit on The Kids in the Hall.
  3. His eyes show flames, the first special effect concerning the pupils of the eyes.
  4. At first, Wendy is in the front row, but she moves to the back when Damien takes his place next to Cartman.

A Hell Of A Lunchtime: The Cafeteria

  1. The Mega Men and the Ultra Mega Mega Man - shades of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, VR Troopers, and the Big Bad Beetle Borgs, all successors to the Tranformers and Voltron.
  2. The Retreating Table - When Damien comes to eat with the Foursome the table keeps going, but when he is rejected the table ends right in front of him. His tray also changes perspective and part of it is under the table.
  3. When Damien starts up his whirlwind this is what flies by:
    1. 26 milk cartons
    2. 22 food trays
    3. 11 desks
    4. 8 Bunnyfish
    5. 6 telephones
    6. 5 red fire alarm switches
    7. 5 benches
    8. Clock reading 12:05 5 times
    9. 3 happy face bags
    10. 3 footballs
    11. 2 shotguns
    12. 2 beer cans
    13. Pip's hat
    14. Box of Snacky Cakes
    15. Yellow Backpack
    16. Mr. Hankey (Chef: "We've go to do something!")
    17. K. C. (he passes by in front of the kids, then again behind Chef a split second later. Talk about speed!)
    18. Brown cow
    19. Signs
      1. "Food" - 8
      2. "School food is good food" - 3
      3. Alien "Have you seen me?" - 3
      4. "Zoop" - 3
      5. "The Four Food Groups" - 2
      6. "Hot" - 2

A Hell Of A Lunchtime: The Playground

  1. Bleessed Art Thou Ratings - The sign in Jesus' dressing room next to the mirror. His ratings have risen along with those of South Park itself. Trey and Matt must be grateful.
  2. As Cartman is pointing to the charts explaining changes to his "gift ideas", one of the kids is taking notes.
  3. Metal objects don't burn, they glow.
  4. Hic dominus ampullicus unum sum… - This is the One Bombastic Lord…
  5. Upon seeing Jesus the priest says "Look! It's that guy from the public access show!" The priest had a hard time recognizing the Son of God? Jesus said this would happen…
  6. the list
    1. leaves
    2. swings
    3. happy face bags
    4. Snacky Cakes
    5. milk cartons
    6. cups with straws
    7. car with driver
    8. car's rear wheel
    9. visitor (waving)
    10. a third-grader
    11. a roll of paper
  7. Chef offers to protect all of the women. At this point, Mr. Garrison instantly grabs hold of Chef for protection. Garrison is a needy man.

Preparing for Battle

  1. The fight is being offered on PPV for $49.95, but who in South Park, small as it is, would want to stay home to watch it? Anyone can see it live at the South Park Forum.
  2. Holy poop on a stick! - The Mr. Hankey Construction Kit. Also, an overrated person.
  3. Satan's abdominal muscles are drawn to resemble a bloated penis.
  4. At the pre-fight weigh-in, Jesus weighs 135 lbs, 1 oz. However, when the fighters are announced, the announcer says that he weighed in at 140 lbs. Nothing wrong with that, he was shaping up for the fight. He might also have been consuming some Weight Gain 4000.
  5. Adult version of Bill and Fosse (their dads?) show up in the bar behind the priest after Jesus leaves.
  6. The Ticket:
    $ 500
    BET
    JESUS
    TO
    WIN
    IN THE 12TH ROUND
  7. Satan, what about the rumors of your involvement in the Gulf War? - Fundamentalists and Pentecostals believe that these are the Last Days, and that Saddam Hussein is either the Antichrist or a prelude to him. This means that Satan was behind the Gulf War, as the Antichrist is an agent of Satan.

Boutin' at the Mountain

  1. Compare Boutin' at the Mountain with the Rumble in the Jungle, and the Thrilla in Manila
  2. Guest Ring Announcer: Michael Buffer (really!)
  3. Referee: Mills Lane, the one from the Tyson/Holyfield bite - er, fight (nota bene: during the summer of 1998, the referee got his own show as Judge Mills Lane)
  4. Jesus' trunks had his name spelled Jezus
  5. Don't try to be a great man, just be a man - from Star Trek: First Contact, where William Riker says it to Zefram Cochrane.
  6. Jesus takes off his Halo when he goes in for the last round of the fight, then replaces it when he's asked if he could forgive the townsfolk.

Cartman's Birthday Party

  1. There are some elephants at Cartman's party. None of them is Kyle's, or Cartman would have told him to take it back along with Ants In The Pants.
  2. The Blue Mega Man - Cartman had mentioned the green Mega Man, the yellow Mega Man, and the red Mega Man, and that these three combine to make the Ultra Mega Mega Man. Also, Stan was to get him the green Mega Man. Instead, Stan gets him a blue Mega Man, and Cartmam doesn't protest. Where does the blue Mega Man fit in the Ultra Mega Mega Man?
  3. When Cartman is slapping Kyle around, the overhead shots show him without his party hat, but the ground shots show him with it on. Usually, Cartman lets his friends hit him when he offends them, but Kyle offended him this time, and he wasn't going to let Kyle forget it. We see here that Cartman has a pretty bad temper when things don't turn out the way he planned.
  4. There is a master switch: Party ON - Party OFF. When Cartman switches it to OFF, everything darkens and the birthday banner and balloons fly away.

South Park Recycles

  1. It's coming right for us! - Jimbo, before he kills Kenny, the duck-billed platypus (Volcano).
  2. Let's get our asses to the bookie - Jimbo, once Jesus and Satan agree to fight (Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride).
  3. I don't know what to do, dude - Stan, on whether to go to the fight or to Cartman's party (The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Santa, Death).
  4. Our Savior! - Stan and Kyle, on Jesus' victory (The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Frosty).
  5. The crowd is cheering Satan when Jesus looks back and glares (The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Santa). The crowd wilts.

South Park Sacrilege

  1. What the hell, does he think we're all crazy? - the priest, once Jesus leaves the bar.
  2. What the hell do you mean if I win? - Jesus, on his chances with Satan.
  3. Goddammit Jesus, snap out of it! - Stan, trying to bolster Jesus' spirits.

Mega Man exists!

There are three videos out there that have Mega Man as a main character. He has a robodog named "Roll and Rush" and a nemesis named Dr. Wily. The three videos are:
  1. 20,000 Leaks Under The Sea
  2. Robosaur Park
  3. The Beginning
The videos are for ages 8 and up.

This one's for Chaos, the Dark One, who sent me this information about Mega Man:
The Mega Man series has been a Capcom game since the first Nintendo. It may be different in the US TV series, but last I remember, Roll was Mega Man's Sister, not his dog. His dog is named Rush though. In fact, before Mega Man became Mega Man he was named Rock. Get it? Rock...Roll... Rock and Roll? Funny, huh? No it's not, but in Japan he's still known as Rock Man. The name was changed for obvious reasons.
Blue Mega Man does resemble the actual Mega Man, however slightly. Mega Man does not have Voltron-esque characteristics (i.e. he doesn't join up with 4 other "Mega Men" to transform into a greater power)* but he has the ability to copy the attacks of other robots he defeats.

* This refere to Cartman talking about the three Mega Men combining to form Ultra Mega Mega Man, who would be a Voltronesque entity.
