The Secrets of
"Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut"

by Wild Willie Westwood, with sources from all over the Web

Cartman's Tea Party

  1. He calls the tea Earl Grey, which is Capt. Jean-Luc Picard's favorite tea. Trey and Matt didn't mind borrowing from Star Trek in Damien
  2. The names of the dolls Cartman talks to are, clockwise, Clyde Frog (Kermit the Frog), Polly Prissy Pants, Peter Panda (Peter Pan), and Rumpertumskin (Rumpelstiltskin).
  3. The orchestral music that plays in the background is Pachabel's Canon in D.
  4. Shades of Toy Story, when Buzz Lightyear loses all sense of purpose when he discovers he's just a toy and ends up at a tea party himself.

Dinner at Cartman's House

  1. On the table are two plates of ham, a plate of drumsticks, a plate of mashed potatoes, a turkey, and a tray of beefy roast (corned beef cabbage?). Both Eric and his mom have small chicken pot pies next to their plates.
  2. Cartman yells at Kitty again just as he did in Episode 101 and also to Starvin' Marvin in Episode 109.

Mr. Mackey's office, revisited

  1. There are three posters hanging up in Mr. Mackey's office. They read: "Dads are DANDY!" (the man many assume to be Cartman's father is found on the poster with his own son), "Father & Son day is coming!", and "If you don't have a dad, you're a BASTARD!"
  2. The boy who was waiting to see Mr. Mackey in Mr. Hankey is waiting to see him again.

Cartman's Search for Identity

  1. When Cartman shows up at Stan's house dressed like an Indian, Stan asks him why he is wearing a bear necklace. The necklace is actually of an eagle.
  2. When he visits the reservation he is the only one dressed this way. The Indians dress in Western gear. There are at least six people at the reservation: five around the campfire, and one who opened the gate for Cartman.
  3. He refers to the "SPC," which can't refer to "South Park Crips," as he said he was at the SPC in the west side of town. South Park Center?
  4. When he is all dressed up to approach Chef as his father, he has a big ring/brass knuckles on that says "PIE". The clock around his neck is reminiscint of Flavor Flav from Public Enemy and reads 3:00. His hair is modeled after Kid from Kid N' Play. And the Adidas-like jump suit is straight outta '80's rap.
  5. When Chef is explaining to Cartman why he cannot be his father, he sits Cartman down and refers to him as "children" throughout their talk. This is in contrast to Chef calling Stan (Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride) and Kyle (Pink Eye) by name, and even mentioning Kenny (Pink Eye). On the other hand, he called Cartman "children" in Damien.

The 12th Annual Drunken Barn Dance (watch out for the duck)

  1. Even though Officer Barbrady is only a trainee. Liane Cartman calls him "Officer".
  2. The song that plays every time Ms. Cartman meets a new partner spoofs Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On
  3. Liane puts an extra emphasis when she says "a handsome black man" when talking to Chef. At that point, they both look down at his "who-who dilly" area. This echoes Chef's comment in An Elephant Makes Love To A Pig: "Now I know how all those white women must have felt."
  4. Chef is supposed to be new in town, yet he knew who Mr. Garrison was when his hand popped out of the hay. Assuming that Chef was working at the school cafeteria at the time, trying to raise money for his restaurant, he would have met Garrison first, and so know whose hand appeared in the hay under Liane.
  5. In Episode 112 (Mecha-Streisand), Chef said that he was honored to have Sidney Poitier in his "home town". However, in this episode we find that Chef had just arrived in town. He has adopted South Park as his home town.
  6. When Liane asks Chef if he's heard of a "Manage O' Three", she means "ménage a trois" (French term for a threesome or multiple partners at once). He knows what she means.
  7. One of the musicians is playing an ass of some sort.
  8. Mr. Garrison seems to have no problem with hair loss (unless he is wearing a wig). However, in Episode 102 he is shown as a child with the same baldness that plagues him presently.
  9. Mr. Garrison's sexuality continues to be a great mystery. He definitely wants/gets a piece of Liane, but when Chef says that he doesn't want any part in a threesome with Garrison there, Mr. Garrison says, "Damn, Damn, Damn!! Oh well, I guess it'll just have to be you and me, Ms. Cartman." Mr. Garrison has a little sexual history of his own.

Not Without My Anus

  1. Not Without My Anus (and Terrance's desire to go to Iraq to rescue his daughter) is a reference to the cheap theatrical movie that should have been made for TV: Not Without My Daughter starring Sally Field (it has aired on NBC).
  2. The network logo "HBC" that the T&P show is on conbines HBO and ABC/NBC.
  3. Terrance and Phillip are Canadian, not Australian. Recent articles have confirmed this.

Kenny and America's Stupidest Home Videos

  1. The first time Grandpa and the kids are watching America's Stupidest Home Videos, a woman with long brown hair is in the front row wearing a blue shirt. She appears in Damien as the woman who whistles after Jesus complains that everyone has changed their bets to Satan. Sally Struther's commercial is heard as Grandpa changes channels.
  2. There are 34 people in the audience.
  3. Kyle says that Bob Saget is "almost as bad as that guy on Full House." Funny thing is, Bob Saget played the character of Danny Tanner on Full House.
  4. Why is it daytime when Eric reaches Stan's house, when just an hour or so before it is night?
  5. The name of the train that runs Kenny over is called America's Silver Slicer (now, take the initials of these three words and see what you get…). The music the go-cart races to is a variation on the Mission Impossible theme. You can't expect Kenny to start up the go-cart …and live, can you?
  6. Why did the train fail to sound its horn when Kenny landed on the tracks?
  7. This is the first time that any of the kids' parents (other than his own at the end of Starvin' Marvin) seem to have any concern over Kenny's death.
  8. When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight - Bob Saget airs the boys' video just hours after Stan mails it. Stan's parents know about Kenny's death that morning, and before Kenny dies Stan confirms to Kyle that he sent the video the night before. Grampa sent his video about Kenny's death that afternoon (Stan became a finalist that night), and the next day he won the $10,000 Grand Prize, beating out Stan's video.
  9. Little Boy's Tea Party / Little Boy Has A Tea Party should have played the same way both times it played, but there's one major difference:
  10. When Kenny's death is replayed on America's Stupidest Home Videos, it is different from how it actually happened. There is no talking done in the replay, and the train travels much slower than it originally did. This could be due to the fact that Grampa was using a zoom lens from quite a distance.
  11. Before the train hits him, Kenny waves at his friends with his left hand. On the videotape, he waves at them with his right hand.

Cartman and Garrison at the bar

  1. When Cartman goes to the bar, Jesus is drinking out of a chalice (the Holy Grail?). The Priest is having beer, as in Damien.
  2. Mr. McCormick (Kenny's dad) is at the bar next to Mr. Garrison. He is also seen earlier at the Drunken Barn Dance wearing a hat that said "Scotch" (reference back to Cartman's lines in Pink Eye).
  3. When Mr. Garrison admits to sleeping with Cartman's mother "but who here hasn't?!", even Jesus and the Priest don't raise their hands.
  4. Mr. Garrison calls the man with no legs "Halfy," probably because a person loses half his height when he loses his legs.

The Suspected Dads, and the likelihood of their paternity

  1. Chief Running Water - No. If he were, Cartman would have a darker shade of skin.
  2. Chef - No. If he were, Cartman would have an even darker shade of skin.
  3. Mr. Garrison - Imagine that!
  4. 1989/1991 Denver Broncos - No. They were not AFC champions in either year. And Eric is nine now, so he was been born in 1989, which means he was conceived in 1987 or 1988, which were both AFC Championship years for Denver.
  5. Mephesto, geneticist - Now, that would be ironic!
  6. Kevin, little monkey guy - No way!
  7. Officer Barbrady - No. He only ate one of Liane's cookies.
  8. Gerald Broflovski - No. If he were, Cartman would be Kyle's half brother, and we all know how they can't stand each other.
  9. Jimbo - No. If he were, Stan and Cartman would be cousins. Also, Cartman doesn't show a love of hunting or gambling.
  10. Ned - Could be. He was in Viet Nam and so could have told young Cartman about his time there when Cartman was a toddler. Also, he's the only one who has been courteous to Mrs. Cartman (Volcano: "Hello, Mrs. Cartman. How are you today?")

Cartman's address is the same as Wendy's from Tom's Rhinoplasty: "28201". But in Volcano it was 1602.

Chef's house has a tiger-skin rug, a lava lamp, a record player, and incense sticks w/holders.

The Broncos are shown in orange jerseys, blue helmets, and white pants (abandoned in 1997). Their numbers are rounded (this is part of their new uniforms).

In An Elephant Makes Love To A Pig Cartman told Stan what he would do if a girl wanted to kick his ass: "hey, why don't you stop dressin' me up like a mailman, annnd making me dance for you while you go and smoke crack in your bedroom and have sex with some guy I don't even know, on my dad's bed!" Even though Eric doesn't know who his father is, he's sure he has a father out there somewhere, and is sure that none of the guys his mother brings home is that man, or that man would have at least said "hello" to him.
My guess is that Ned is Cartman's father. He allows for the possibility at the end of the cliffhanger. He is the only one at present who has been courteous to Mrs. Cartman (Volcano: Hello, Mrs. Cartman, how are you today?) Cartman has "flashbacks" to Viet Nam, a war he was born too late to be in, but about which he must have heard from someone. Jimbo and Ned were both in Viet Nam, so either of them could be Cartman's father. But Jimbo loves to hunt and gamble, two traits not present in Cartman. That leaves Ned, who was an excellent fire log for Cartman's weenies…
The new bearded man could be Eric's father, but he appears on a poster with his own son (Dads are Dandy) in Mr. Mackey's office, and Mephesto does not refer to him. Then there's the alien that appears behind Chief Running Water…
Cartman's Original FamilyHere's one man who hasn't said a thing on the matter. He is the original dad, as shown in the unaired pilot. As you can see, Cartman also had a sister. And the whole family is in the picture behind Mrs. Cartman.
