At the end of the "Canada on Strike" musical number, the massed Canadians appear to not cover the Arctic region. Curiously, though, they DO cover the Olympian Peninsula, part of the state of Washington and therefore not Canadian.
Among the related videos shown on Butters' YouTube page are those of Gray Brolsma, Chris Crocker, Hillary Clinton (3 of them), Barack Obama, the VMAs, and one other.
"How about some of that internet money?" - The WGA seems to believe that the Internet gets as much revenue as more traditional media, if not more, but Kyle concludes that that time isn't here yet. In light of MnT's new media deal last August, it means that MnT won't be getting as much money through South Park Studios as many people think they will. Still, MnT realized that they could be getting lots more money if they can offer the show through South Park Studios in higher quality than that seen in downloads from download sites and on YouTube. Of course, if downloads start appearing that are of higher quality than South Park Studios' own streaming eps, MnT's plan will backfire.
"Uhhh a few hundred thousand?" - Maybe Butters didn't hear the report (he did see the reporter in front of his hosue though), but the number is more like over ten million.
Chocolate Rain Guy has the gun at Chris Crocker's head. The very next scene shows the gun is missing while Chris bites Chocolate Rain Guy's right leg.
Mr. Abootman's aide looks like Alex Trebek, a Canadian, before he shaved his mustache off.
There are no Bennigan's restaurants in Canada. Thus, the coupons are worthless unless Canadians visit a Bennigan's in the U.S.
The way the anchorman and others characterize Canada's desire for more money reflects how many people viewed the writers' strike: a strike without much of a reason behind it. We knew they wanted more money, but weren't sure why except that the producers were making money and not sharing it with the writers. We've since learned that the writers wanted to get paid a higher percentage of DVD sales and to get paid for Internet content they wrote for (so they'll get paid for every view a show gets online). So, the writers struck for little-understood reasons, and didn't get everything they struck for.
