The Secrets of
"Chicken Pox"

by Wild Willie Westwood, with sources from all over the Web

Chicken pox is a form of herpes! It is transmitted by the virus varicella zoster, and is mild in childhood, severe in adulthood. If it came to you as a child and them comes back to you in adulthood, it comes back as shingles. So chicken pox, shingles, cold sores, and herpes are all related. Calamine lotion is used to ward off scratching.

Stan just can't stand hospitals, unless he's got no choice but to stay there.

Wouldn't you know it? Kenny lives on the other (wrong) side of the tracks, in the ghetto.

Neither of Kenny's parents recognize Cartman as the deputy who came by and broke up their argument in Chickenfucker.

The Pilsner BEER neon wall hanging resembles the Budweiser logo.

ColecoVision was an early video game machine for the home, along with the various Atari machines. Home video games exploded in the early 1980's.

Kenny's brother is Kevin, and this makes the fourth Kevin to appear on the show

Chicken po-? Oh no, I must have caught it from Kenny last night. - Maybe so, but you shouldn't see any pox for two weeks. And yet, it could be seen the next day.

Pizza Shack - Pizza Hut

What a great Saturday morning-aren't weekends just the best? - he must've gone to services on Friday night.

What the hell does that have to do with American history? - a clipping from Trey's short American History is on the wall over Kyle's left shoulder.

New Pieces To The Puzzle - Gerald Broflovski and Stuart McCormick were best friends in high school. Gerald became a lawyer and Stuart became - a redneck.

On Stuart's truck, back window, is a clear "Know Fear" decal. This is a play on the various "No Fear" items in record, T-shirt, and novelty stores.

Returns - Shelley, Terrence and Phillip, the doctor at Hell's Pass hospital (but no nurse).

You little rascals! - I called it! Look in The Secrets of "Cartman Gets An Anal Probe" to see where South Park is like the Little Rascals. Also, the Little Rascals reference begins with Chef saying "O-kay" when the boys leave to find Frida.

Music, Music

Cartman sings the Elvis Presley song, "Vicious Circle" aka "In The Ghetto." Also, while Frida desecrates the boys' parents' clothes, food, silverware, toiletries, and makeup, the Monkees' "I'm A Believer" plays.

White Trash

Some of this might be a recap, but here's everything Kenny comes home to…

The Front Yard

An old refrigerator, a sofa, a car engine block, beer bottles, lamp (shadeless), an empty Pennzoil bottle, a mangy dog and cat, three tires leaning on a wall betwenn the garage and the house, a broken garage door, and a car with front wheels on blocks.

The Living Room

A car engine block on coffee table, a Pilsner BEER neon wall hanging, 8 empty bottles (2 on floor, 3 on top of TV, 3 next to the engine block), rat under TV. The dining room has a frame whose painting has been ripped out, and Kevin's name is on a dining room wall. There's other grafitti as well.

The Bedroon

A large hole in the ceiling and roof, a footlocker for a dresser, matresses without a frame to rest on, torn curtains, and a Clapper (!). And a couple of posters on the walls showing very sexy women.
