The Secrets of
"Cripple Fight!"

Major observation: Kyle is not in the epiosde. But Matt did voice a few of the charcters. Heh, I just figured out why. Kyle is in Jew Scouts at this time!

Isn't riding on a truck bed illegal, even if you're secured?

New place: Park County Community Center, away from South Park

Troop 69! But Stan calls it troop 47 at the cookie sale. Could be that troop 69 is the troop that lives near the community center, while the South Park troop is troop 47. Token, who goes to school with the boys, lives in a different part of town, and so belongs to another troop, which explains why he's not at the bake sale with the others. There was some theorizing that Troop 69 may have been Big Gay Al's troop, but the banner remains after Mr. Grazier takes over for Al. Maybe troop 69 consists of the older Scouts present?
In the Saturday airings of the episode, Stan now says troop 69 instead of troop 47.

Scouts meet on Tuesdays

Dem Donuts make their first appearance since "Fat Camp"

"I just flew into South Park. Boy, are my crutches tired!" — common comic line. In "Cartman's Mom Is A Dirty Slut" Bog Saget uses a similar line on his show: "Hey, I just flew into the studio. Boy are my arms tired."

The little girl in the audience is missing the flip behnd her right ear for a few scenes, but it shows up when Jimmy starts with the impersonations.

The cake Timmy throws at Jimmy is a strawberry cake, but the one that lands on Jimmy is chocolate. As the scene ends, the cake Timmy threw is back at the table, but the cookies, the doughnuts, and the other boys are gone.

Matt seems to have been hoarse this episode, like he was in "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000." Some of his characters were a bit off voice.

Marc Shaiman! At Al's house! Didn't know Al had a house...

The song Marc plays is called "Too Fat Polka." Drew Carey sang a version of this song with Frankie Yankovic.

Is Sharon Marsh Carol Marsh again? Or is Carol Mr. Grazier's wife?

Mr. Grazier hammers at his right hand until it bleeds, but when he pulls out the pictures he just took, he uses his right hand, which should have been in pain, and which should still be bloody from the pounding, but it has no blood or scar.

The floor color on Big Gay Al's living room floor changes from white to brown. When that happens, a tall cup appears on the table, disappears, and then reappears. Also, note a bedroom picture of Al posing with a snake wrapped around his body.

Kyle's parents can be seen in church in the second row, right side of the aisle (that would be screen left)

We get to see the supermarket's name now: Henry's Supermarket

The fight between Timmy and Jimmy seems to have come from "They Live," starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. Piper was a wrestler at the time this movie was made, so the wrestling moves in the movie, replicated in this episode, come from the movie. Such wrestling can still be seen in no-holds-barred matches of all sorts. First blow was delivered by Timmy at 14:49, last one was delievered by Timmy (a neck-breaker) at 18:22. A search of John Carpenter trivia reveals that the fight scene in "They Live" was an expansion of the one in "The Quiet Man" starring John Wayne.

The title on the poster in Steven Spielberg's office says Grill instead of Jaws. Always and 1941 were two of Spielberg's turkeys.

The appearance of Timmy's house reverts to the one in "Timmy 2000"

Jimmy dresses Timmy in a parka just like Kenny's. As a result, all that might have happened to kill Kenny happens to Jimmy, but doesn't kill him. Here's a comparison of five death scenarios:
  1. A safe falls towards him — in "Cherokee Hair Tampons" a piano falls on Kenny
  2. A large bird comes for Jimmy — the same bird comes for Kenny later on, and gets him
  3. Jimbo and Ned shoot at him — in "Weight Gain 4000" Mr. Garrison shoots at Kenny; in "Damien" Jimbo and Ned shoot at Platypus Kenny.
  4. A herd of cows runs through the streets — in "Cartman Gets An Anal Probe" this happened to Kenny
  5. The space shuttle nosedives into the sidewalk — in "Pink Eye" Mir kills Kenny
These two near deaths don't have comparable Kenny counterparts
  1. There's a collision between a car and a big rig.
  2. Fire and glass shoot out of a window

Geri Jewell, listed in the credits at the end of the episode, played a snobbish character named Geri Tyler, Blair Warner's cousin, back on the TV series "The Facts of Life". Jimmy's character is based on her. She has cerebral palsy. More about her here. And here are the episodes she starred in: THE FACTS OF LIFE EPISODE GUIDE: Guest Appearances.

Further evidence that Timmy is not as dumb as he seems: he gives Jimmy an orange parka in the hopes that Jimmy would wear it and die, like Kenny does. Then he works the "Photo Wiz" program like a pro and set Jimmy up to get kicked out of Scouts in the process. Just goes to show that physical handicaps don't necessariily mean mental ones.

Signs seen at the press conference: "See Yes To Gay!!" "Gay!! OK!!!" "Stop Gay Bashing!"
