The Secrets of
"Krazy Kripples"

by Wild Willie Westwood, with sources from all over the Web

Remember this name?

It was the name I first gave as Butters' official name back in July 1999, after seeing "Two Guys Naked In A Hot Tub." It has since been shown that "Jim" was actually "Jill," the Charlie's Angels character Dougie (not Butters) dressed as in that episode (I had misheard "Jill" as "Jim"), and "Swanson" was used in "Conjoined Fetus Lady" as Butters' last name. Now it's Jimmy's name, and there's no mistaking it. :)

We also learn his father's name is Ryan, his mom's name is Sarah.

What are these people staying out of?
The boys stay out of the animosity Jimmy has towards Christopher Reeve, since Reeve is trying to regain his mobility in a way Jimmy can't.
Mr. McGillicuddy stays out of any involvement Jimmy and Timmy may end up having with the gang known as the Crips.
The boys stay out anything having to do with Christopher Reeve's use of fetuses to regenerate himself.

Five Points is a reference to Five Points, Denver, a hotbed of gang activity, and arguably the worst part of the city (thanks to cperko for that).

Stem-cell research does not involved fetuses. Stem cells come from embryos just a few days old.

Address at "Ribs -N- Gas": 26354

The truck that missed Jimmy and Timmy is an "EXXOFF" gas truck, a parody of Exxon.

The name "Cipac" (C-pac) is a parody of "Tupac".

Jimmy and Timmy join a gang which they believe is made of members who are not crippled in accidents. The irony is that nearly all crippled gang members, no matter what gang they're in, are crippled in "accidents" - in gang shootings, drive-bys, assaults, etc.

The corollay is that they join a gang which they believe is made of "Crips" from birth, like them. But no gang member is born that way - each member must be initiated into the gang, usually before adolescence arrives.

Jimmy lives at 1331.

We don't get to see Timmy's house being shot up.

There's no real reason the Bloods and Crips hate each other anymore. This gang feud falls in line with other feuds that began long ago and continure to this day, even though the original combatants and reasons have passed into history.

Hack Man (Gene Hackman) is a parody of Hawk Man.

In "Super Best Friends" you met the Super Friends. Now you'll meet the Legion of Doom!
Luke... I am your father...Luke, I am your... hahahahahahaha....
The list of LODers as I have it:
The Legion of Doom

General Disarray and Professor Chaos share the same seat when all the Legion is shown from behind, but have separate seats when shown from the front. In this, one sees that Butters was truly inspired by Christopher Reeve, since, as Professor Chaos, he shows up among the villains.

How did Saddam escape Heaven? How did Osama return from the dead?

In "Kenny Dies" Cartman gets stem-cell research legislation passed in time to have fetuses build him a Shakey's Pizza parlor clone but not in time to save Kenny. In this episode, Gene Hackman gets that legislation repealed.

The Cross and the Switchblade (1972), about a preacher who moves to the ghettos of New York to turn the young members of several gangs away from drugs and violence against each other, has an ending quite similar to the one in this episode: the different gangs are about to fight but are persuaded otherwise by the preacher's sermon.

Why are some gang members wearing shoes when they dive off the diving board?

Fat Albert reference in the Junkyard Band the kids form, the instruments they use, and the style of song they play.
