The Secrets of
"Christian Rock Hard"

by Wild Willie Westwood, with sources from all over the Web

The boys' musical styles have diverged since their time in F*ngerbang. :)

Butters has a Snacky Cakes drum set.

"You got a computer?" - Did Stan forget already? :D On the other hand, it's Kyle's own computer, not his father's.

Why is Kyle's monitor shown in amber? What happened to the color monitor seen in SP:BLU?

If I could download music as quickly as Kyle can, I'd have a wall of CDs burned from the music I downlaoded!

The sound used for a completed download on Kyle's computer is actually used to indicate an attempt to download a file of any kind over an existing file of the same name. The sounds can be reconfigured to go with actions other than the ones they default to.

Night sun - the floodlight police helicopters use at night to highlight a fleeing suspect, the car the suspect is in, or the area the suspect has fled to, all to help ground police see their target better.

"I see an island without an owner." - a reference to Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, in which the Ghost of Christmas Present says to Scrooge, "I see a crutch without an owner."

"Needing You," written by Bruce Howell. Cartman replaces Howell's name with his own. :)

Token's bass is fashioned after the bass Rudy played in the cartoon series Fat Albert some 25 years ago.

Token and Butters traded places on the first album cover shot, but return to the positions shown in the teaser image for the actual shot that was used. the number of fingers shown on Cartman's hands also changes.

Cartman on the bus writing lyrics onto his palm is taken from 8 Mile, when Eminem does the same thing on his way to a rap contest.

This is the second time Capitol Records in Hollywood has been parodied. In "Chef Aid" it was called Capitalist Records, but didn't have the distinctive record-stack shape shown in this ep. Here it has the record-stack shape, but is called Faith Records.

K-tal Records - a spoof of K-Tel Records, which left the compilation-album business in 1985, became an Internet company, but closed up in 1998.

Musical acts at Kyle's house:

Alanis Morissette is mentioned, but not shown.

Some songs spoofed in the Faith + 1 album:
"Three Times My Savior" = "Three Times A Lady" by Lionel Richie
"I Wasn't Born Again Yesterday" = "I've Never Been To Me" by Charlene

Part of the song Cartman sings at Christfest sounds like the Delfonics' "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)"

The certified letter mentions the platinum award being handed to Cartman, but it's changed to a myrrh award.

The Christian music business follows the same rules as the other music businesses: they do note an album's sales with gold and platinum mileposts, though gold, frankincense and myrrh are cute ways of thinking about them.

And finally, the closest thing to "Faith + 1" I know of is the song "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100, which came out in 1982. :)

And something I just learned: There's been a Christian group called Plus One since 2000. And there are three Japanese music companies that go by Faith Records, Faith Music, and Faith Music Entertainment.
